We stayed in an apartment in Paris for 9 nights. I couldn’t recommend more highly holidaying in Paris this way, for a number of reasons
- you can save some money by cooking for yourself (as often as you feel up to it)
- you get the feel for a neighbourhood that you mightn’t staying in a hotel
- you can pretend you’re a Parisian as you go in and out of your apartment (as long as you don’t need to speak)
Our apartment in le Marais was great – well-appointed (small but functional kitchen, bathroom, tv, stereo, dvd, free wi-fi, free phone calls to landlines in UK, Australia, France, US), big enough for four of us (a bedroom with a double bed plus a good sofabed), in a fabulous location, easy to deal with landlady. We payed around 1100 euros for 9 nights. If you’re planning a stay in Paris I’d highly recommend talking to Caroline, (who also manages an apartment in the Louvre).
